Hi, I am an undergrad at UC San Diego and a member of the Berg Lab, where I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Taylor Berg-Kirkpatrick. I also work closely with Professor Leon Bergen.

My research interest lies in finding and explaining emergent capabilities from models. Specifically, I am interested in

  • What makes in-context learning(ICL) emerge, and how to explain it
  • Alternative architectures
  • How to improve model reasoning capability(coming soon!) and understand if language model can actually do OOD reasoning(or LLM is just a large probabilistic parrot)

Meanwhile, I am also interested in the applications

  • How to build a better compound AI systems [under review] (refer to this post for compound AI systems)
  • How to leverage NLP for digital humanities

I do bouldering (V6), surfing, snowboarding, and skiing in my leisure time. Additionally, I have previously played table tennis and badminton competitively.
